I thought that this was a well located hotel, situated just outside the centre of Lymington and a short drive into the New Forest. We had room 158, a bit floral, but apart from that very good, with nice views of the lawns and garden. Breakfast was very good with a good selection of hot and cold food. I would not recommend this hotel for families, I went to escape my kids and it was perfect, nice and quiet and very relaxing. I can recommend the Passford House hotel. |

Hotel was easy to get to and although in really quiet and secluded position still in easy reach of many attractions. Loved the inside of hotel and gardens were beautifull. One of the best cooked breakfasts we have had in a hotel will definately re-visit and recomend to anyone wanting a beautifull hotel in lovely surroundings. |

The cost of dinner was totally excessive and beyond many people. An alternative menu of less sophisticated fare should be seriously considered. Otherwise a really lovely hotel to which we shall return!! |

This is a charming hotel in a very pretty part of the New Forest and, although the weather was foul more or less the whole time, we really enjoyed our short break. I was slightly nervous about what kind of rooms we would get through our Laterooms booking having read the other reviews, but needn't have worried. My partner and I were given a beautiful room at the front of the hotel, which was spotlessly clean, very spacious and nicely decorated and furnished (although I did find a previous visitor's socks and underpants in one of the drawers -- unused, I'm glad to say). I particularly liked the period-style en suite bathroom, which had a bath and overhead shower. My mother-in-law's twin room (we couldn't book a single via Laterooms) was not quite so big and airy, despite also being a superior room, and was a bit dark because it was at the back of the hotel. But it had views over the fabulous grounds and was very quiet. Also, in the early morning, a young deer obligingly came out to lie on the grass outside her window, which more than compensated for the lack of space etc. I agree with an earlier comment that the restaurant is not very modern and exciting, but the food was delicious and the wine list more than adequate. Oddly, they didn't offer dessert wines by the glass, though, which was a bit of a disappointment. Finally, we found all the staff to be friendly and helpful -- and, almost without exception, very smiley -- which made the difference between a comfortable, pleasant stay and a memorable one. All in all, I would say Passford House is the ideal place for a relaxing break in the country. |
