An original listed 17th Century Coaching Inn set in the ancient town of Amesbury a stones throw away from Stonehenge and nearby Salisbury. The Hotel boasts 21 individually styled en-suite rooms one of which is our Beatles Suite where the fab 4 (The Beatles) stayed while they were filming 'Help' on Salisbury Plain. The Hotel has a beautifully appointed restaurant which is open for lunch & dinner specialising in the best of local produce at very competetive prices, traditional olde world bar with a welcoming open fire serving a wide selection of real ales alongside an extensive wine list.
All the original charms of the hotel are embodied in the homely lounge, again with an open fireplace and full length south facing windows overlooking our magnificent walled victorian garden.
The hotel lends itself as the perfect location for weddings, corporate events, happenings and private functions. Our very friendly team will ensure a comfortable stay for business, families and leisure travellers alike.

Very friendly, efficient staff. The bedroom was very clean, and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was dated and had inadequate heating for cold weather. Food good. Lovely garden.

1: I book with one credit card, but when I arrive they told me they wound't take that credit card! 2: I check out on time, but left my bag upstairs so told the guy that would need 5 more min to pick up my bag, he wasn't very friendly about 5 more min! 3: bes was extremly soft, good if you like soft beds...not me

Great atmosphere, lovely team of people. This is an old hotel with plenty of character. In need of modernisation and lacks facilities for the business traveler, but would stay there again. Excellent food, popular with locals, always a good sign.

food good to very good. staff attitude outstandingly helpful but not obtrusive. rooms not so good, in fact a bit of a turn off.
