Liverpool City Centre Apartments - Royal Quay

This apartment could not have been more convenient for our stay, situated as it is alongside Albert Dock. It is a modern quiet building.We liked the secure parking and the gated access. There is a variety of eating places within a very short walk.

This is NOT a hotel nor four star "serviced apartments" as indicated by LateRooms. There was no indication we have to take a taxi (who can't find it) to the "office" (another block of flats) to get the key! No info supplied about the location of this office. NO service of any kind in the building which is simply a flat in a block of flats. No check-out time indicated and when we asked if we could leave our bags somewhere till the end of the day we were told to take them to the "office" by taxi and then get another taxi later to pick them up! Don't stay here unless you need self-catering for a longer working stay. Go to a hotel where you can get all the service implied by your booking here but actually UNAVAILABLE. And in the end it will be cheaper. Basically a lousy experience of gross inconvenience for us. The "Directions" supplied will take you to a locked gate outside a block of flats. NB "Breakfast not included" means of course "Breakfast NOT AVAILABLE"

Venue is perfectly placed for day/night out in liverpool. Great views. Few problems. You do not check in at the apartment, you have to cross to offices about 10 mins drive away. No notifcation in advance that there is a £10 charge to park. Q car park next door is only a fiver. On Late Rooms it said check out was 3pm. As we were having a night out in Liverpool, this late check out was the main reason for booking. On arrival told it was 11am. Initially would not do anything, I asked for money back as could have gone to a chain hotel for £50 and got free carparking!!. They advised they would debit my card as they would treat that as a cancellation. They said mistake on check out time was Late Rooms fault. Negotiaed check out of 1pm. Arrived at flat - quite a nice size, light and bright, everywhere was fine except the kitchen. No cups, 1 wine glass, pretty much no utensiles of use and the worst -the oven. There were trays in the oven that had been used and not cleaned. Grease was dripping all over. There was a Pizza tray which was virtually burnt black and the shelves were black, the smell was disgustibg. I know that most people probably won't use these facilities, but we were. Had to clean the cooker before we could use it. Also, glass on the bedroom floor which had something sealed to the bottom of it. I think they need to have a word with their cleaning company. This flat is not owned by an indivdual, but a property agent. The flat is sold as catering for 4. Table and chairs - yes they had them, but only 2 chairs! This place would be fine for people who arrive, get changed, go out and don't want to eat or drink anything, but then you may as well stay at a hotel.
