This hotel was a surprise! From the Late Rooms pictures it looked just the thing but when we pulled up outside it looked like anyother village pub - quite bland and unremarkable. The landlord was very welcoming and the room was really superb - you wouldn't have guessed it would be like that from the outside.
The landlord gave us a room with an ensuite bath (as I requested) but there was a problem in that the bath auto plug didn't seal. When we told this to the staff we were immediately given the use of an alternative bathroom and they were very apologetic.
All in all, a very nice out of the way place to stay. Good room, good food and very pleasant service. I would recommend this to others and would stay there myself if I was in the area again.

Rooms still sparkly new so very good, clean and modern. Shower was electric and so doesn't have much power (our room didn't have a bath but 2 of the rooms have bath and no shower I think). Restaurant food okay in the evening. Breakfast good.

The staff were incredibly helpful and very friendly. It was so relaxing just to be able to go downstairs, have a drink and some dinner, without having to move very far!
The waiting staff in the pub/restaurant were excellent and very attentive and the food was good.
The bed was exceptionally comfortable and we had a lovely, large roll-top bath in a very large bathroom which felt like a treat. No shower which was a little inconvenient but the bath was lovely and forced us to relax even more!
We left feeling like we'd had a jolly good rest - well worth it!
