The Royal Oak

36 Kirkgate, Ripon

The Royal Oak is ‘the’ place to eat, drink and stay in Ripon. Our menu has become a real talking point and includes traditional favourites like Ollie’s Whole Hog Sausages made with Timothy Taylor’s Landlord Bitter, mouth watering daily specials using the very best local seasonal produce and our popular Royal Oak Platters.
Our wine list has something for everyone not forgetting our fine selection of Timothy Taylor hand pulled ales.
The Royal Oak is right in the heart of Ripon, just a stones throw from the market square and a short walk from the spectacular Cathedral. We have recently refurbished and everything from the bar to the bedrooms has been given a stunning new look.
Watch the world go by in our dining area overlooking Kirkgate, enjoy a long lunch in front of one of our roaring log fires or sip a cappuccino on one of our large leather sofas.

If you are planning a stay in Ripon our bedrooms have been transformed into an oasis of style and sophistication - plump pillows and crisp white bed linen await our overnight guests.
This combination of comfort and style with an irresistible menu makes The Royal Oak Ripon’s number one place to eat, drink and enjoy.

Overall very good value for money, the breakfasts deserving a special mention as one of the the best we've had ! The lack of hotel parking can be a problem in a town where parking in general seems to be a nightmare and the room was a bit small but well fitted out and spotless.

This Hotel offers excellent value for money. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the food is top class. Being centrally located makes this a perfect venue for those without a car. I would definately recommend this Hotel to my friends and family.

A great find in this area, as you can book for just one night at the weekend and the price was ok. We were 3 adults in the family room which was fine for us. Very nicely decorated, good sized bathroom, great refreshments left in the room. The parking is round the back of the pub. Friendly people and great little pub below, which served a big fried breakfaast. Definitely value for money in this area!
