Directions to The Hideaway at Windermere
Leave the M6 at Junction 36, and follow signs for Windermere (dual carriageway most of the way). As you enter Windermere, you will pass the Windermere Hotel on the right (raised on the hill side). Do not turn left in to Windermere Village, but continue on the main road, passing the NatWest Bank & a row of shops on your left. Pass the next turning on your left (Elleray Road), and take the next exit on the left, which is Phoenix Way. The Hideaway is on the right hand side.

The hotel is easy to find however the sign for the hotel that is on the main road adjacent to the turn-off is hidden by the hedge. The outside of the hotel looks like a typical property in the lake district that has been built for some time and may give the impression of being an average bed and breakfast hotel but the rooms are well fitted out, decorated well and the bathrooms are splendid with lots of hot water. The evening menu is quite small but the food is excellent. The staff work well to make a stay in the hotel very enjoyable. |

We had a great stay at this quiet and friendly hotel. Lisa and Richard were very welcoming. The 3 course dinner for £15 (though normally £25) was great value and delicious. Breakfast was also superb. |

The Hideaway is a 5 minute walk from the Windermere railway station.Lisa and Richard are charming hosts. Our room was little but extremely pretty and the bathroom was great. The three course dinner was fabulous and I would most certainly reccomend it.Breakfast was average but the service and staff was par excellence. The hotel has been very tastefully decorated without obscuring the old architecture of the house. My daughter still raves over the victorian sponge cake served for tea. I would certainly go back to stay. |
