This is a centrally situated hotel in one of the grandest Georgian Streets in Bath. The rooms are large and comfortable. Staff were also friendly and helpful. But the breakfast was a great disappointment. When one pays 4 star prices for a 'continental breakfast' which is advertised as 'delicious' one expects more than cereals, prunes and an indifferent fruit salad with toast. The supplementary price of £6 for an extended meal - especially for two boiled eggs is excessive. To maintain standards commensurate with the architectural grandeur of this hotel, breakfast should be included in the rate and the cheap canteen syle glasses and crockery replaced with something more befitting.

Beautiful old building, great position in the centre of Bath. Definitely worth paying a little extra to stay here. Great room, great breakfast, friendly service....what more do you need?!

The hotel was easy to find, and a 5 minute walk right into the centre, so fantastic location. Also very good parking.
The staff and owner were very nice and friendly, and the food - the breakfast was freshly made (you could infact see and hear them whipping it up in the country style kitchen from where we sat in the dining room)
The one and only negative thing i have to say is that the mattress we had was uncomfortable, with a big dip in the middle, we slept well but had aching necks and back when we awoke. An easy thing for the hotel to put right though!
Everything else was superb and i would visit again, and definitely recommend it!
