This is a centrally situated hotel in one of the grandest Georgian Streets in Bath. The rooms are large and comfortable. Staff were also friendly and helpful. But the breakfast was a great disappointment. When one pays 4 star prices for a 'continental breakfast' which is advertised as 'delicious' one expects more than cereals, prunes and an indifferent fruit salad with toast. The supplementary price of £6 for an extended meal - especially for two boiled eggs is excessive. To maintain standards commensurate with the architectural grandeur of this hotel, breakfast should be included in the rate and the cheap canteen syle glasses and crockery replaced with something more befitting. |
