We arrived and the receptionist was very efficient and showed us to our rooms, offering us assistance with our bags (she didn't notice we didn't have any though!) Room 5 was on ground floor and through a maze of corridors and doors. It was a pleasant room, spacious and clean, however at first thought there was a noise from the bathroom extractor however after reading previous posts I figured that the constant humming was coming from the kitchen (right behind our bed!) I called through to reception and she sounded surprised and said she would check to see what the noise was... moments later she called back to say that it was the machine that 'kept the beer cold' and it would go off at 2300. Being mid-week and just myself and my boyfriend it was likely we would be getting an early night so I asked for another room, which was accommodated. Room 28 was front facing so there was slight traffic noise, but no constant generator humming! However there was obviously bar toilets underneath the room so the noise from the hand driers every so often reminded you that you were not alone! Good location, good parking, easy to find, courteous staff, clean and tidy. Water pressure of shower good, toiletries were supplied but nothing special, I'd foolishly forgotten my toothbrush and got given a tube of tesco value toothpaste and a toothbrush from a multipack. No big deal, (and I was grateful to be given anything at all!) but its the attention to the small details that make a place outstanding to me!
