This hotel is an appartment for self catering & very good for doing your own thing in this city. Basically you are across the road from one of the main attractions (statue of David) and very close walking distance to all the others. The room was grate and very clean with an airey open feel to it. The one issue we found was it was not sign posted outside - it simply says library, and we had to ring the owner on the phone to both confirm this was the place and to let us in as there is no obvious mechanism for opening the door unless you have a key, therefore make sure you have the number for ringing when you arrive. One tip - if you want to see David wait until about 17.30/18.00 when all the tour groups have gone, and simply role up and walk in - I am not joking either!. - we saw people waiting for hours during the day only for there to be no one inside or outside an hour before closing - so unless you want to stare at this statue for more than hour go at the times I suggested. |

Excellent apartment. Friendly, helpful owners. Superb position for exploring Florence. Very quiet room (overlooking garden courtyard. Large, comfortable bed. Very good bathroom. Flat sceen satellite TV. Within 2-3 minutes of very good value restaurant (Ristorante Accademia in Piazza San Marco) serving excllent pastas/pizzas and meat dishs. Very good antipasta). Would certainly return here. |
