Check in was a dream - "paul" was very effecient, and the room was fab - very simplistic, spotless, nice biscuits and water with magnificent views of the golf course. Only slight confusion arose over breakfast times on the Saturday morning - we booked in for a 7.30am breakfast. We were then telephoned and a message left saying the earliest breakfast could be taken was at 8am, and then a further message left saying breakfast didn't start until 9.30am on weekends so something to be aware of. Would have been annoyed if we were booked in on a B&B rate, but we weren't so it wasn't a problem. We were at a wedding at Tewin Bury Farm, and whilst the Fairway Tavern is within walking distance please note that it is pitch black, part of it along a main road with no streetlighting so a torch and sensible shoes is recommended. It is probably about a mile and up a hill. Certainly saves a taxi mind!

The room was basic but comfortable (although an extra easy chair would have been handy).The views over the golf course are lovely and the bar area has a very welcoming atmosphere. The food is very reasonably priced and much better value than the fish and chips we bought in Welwyn Garden!!
