A restaraunt with rooms rather than a hotel - the food is superb and the common areas large. Disappointed by the shower as it was hand held! Plus very, very small bathroom - not what we had expected at all. |

The restaurant was surprisingly quiet for a Friday night - only the two of us until some latecomers arrived at 9pm (as we were leaving due to the "express" service). Perhaps it was due to having the kitchen staff only cooking for us, but the three courses ordered (plus pre-starters and two amuse bouche between courses) were delivered and eaten in just an hour! The plate for my main course was whipped away from under my nose whilst still chewing the final mouthful. Good food let down by overly quick service. |

Hotel easy to find and well situated with good views over countryside. Staff very polite and helpful. Compliments to the Chef because the quality and presentation of the food was first class. However I was a little concerned that the hotel insisted weekend guests ate dinner in the restaurant on at least one evening. The cost for two people with an average bottle of wine is in excess of £100. |

We stayed here on a bed and breakfast basis only so cannot comment on the dinners but the hotel has a very formal silent atmosphere which we don't really like especially at dinner. The breakfast was nicely cooked but not massive - big eaters beware! Both the tea and coffee tasted very watery and unappetising. The views were lovely but there didnt seem to be an outdoor area to sit and have a glass of wine which was a shame. We walked into Ludlow in the evenings (about 40 mins) which was ok ion the fine summer evenings but I wouldnt want to do it in the dark or when wet. Ludlow itself is not great for vegetarians which proved a problem for us. |

i booked a twin room as the booking was for two males. when i rang up to confirm i was told that although i booked a twin room it could not be guarateed. This was ridiculous one asumes if you want a twin room you do not want to sleep with the other person in my case i certainly did so we had to book another double room at vast expense i was not impressed at all!!! |
