The hotel was fine. Nice and close to the Main station and an easy 10-15 minutes into the historic centre along the High St. The staff were pleasant and helpful. We had to stay an extra night in Antwerp and they were very good about us changing our plans and staying on another night. No complaints at all aside from the weather, which they can hardly be blamed for!

When we arrived the girl on check in got half-way through checking us in before taking a lengthy phone call to a friend and ignoring us. Although our room initially seemed okay we woke in the morning to realise that we had been bitten all over by mosquitoes and the hairdryer didn't work. When we reported this to reception they said that the room would be sprayed during the day and that the hairdryer would be fixed. Neither of these things had happened when we came back at 9:30 pm and I was forced to kill 7 mosquitoes (all fat with blood so the same ones that had bitten us the previous night) before we could sleep.
When we complained to the original girl on reception about the mosquitoes she told us that we were simply wrong about the hairdryer and that there was an anti-mosquito plug-in in the room. We asked where this was and where told that it was kept in the bedside drawer and that this was standard for hotels, and that we should have asked about it (which we had done); she and the cleaner then laughed at us (although we had obviously been badly bitten, and had to take antihistamine pills on the advice of a pharmacist). There was no locked area for leaving baggage and when we asked about this the receptionist treated us as if we were stupid and said that this wasn't the hotel's responsibility and that no hotel had this. In addition to all this, the breakfast was mediocre and alhough accessible from the main station, the hotel was not convenient for the centre of town; also, the minibar was empty and switched off.
I would not recommend this hotel for anyone. There were much nicer bed and breakfasts (and hotels) more centrally located.

Very close to train and eurolines. about 10 min walk.
Very quiet location but near all the shops and restaurants.
Breakfast was good. Buffet style, assorted bread rolls and croissants, cereal, cold meat, hard boiled eggs.
yoghurt. coffee, orange juice and grapfriut juice, bottled water and tea...english and herbal teas.
