Hotel Monteplaya

This hotel was in a location which was very noisy, the hotel itself wasn't completely horrendous, but the area wasn't to our liking. The was a strange mix of elderly and very young at the hotel and not many children although we did go out of school holidays.

Having read some other reviews of the Hotel Monteplaya before my arrival, I was alarmed by comments about the food and the lack of facilities for families, but I have to say I found these to be utterly groundless. The hotel could not have been easier to find - not only by taxi but also by train, as it is within five minutes' walk of the railway station, from which there is an excellent service linking to all parts of Spain. The breakfast was very good, plentiful and comprehensive, catering for both European and British traditions. All the staff I encountered were pleasant and helpful, and their command of English was impressive. I had no children with me on this occasion, but, as a mother of three, I feel in a good position to comment that my observations suggested no shortage of facilities for families of all ages. The beach is only a couple of minutes' walk from the hotel. I should happily consider staying at Hotel Monteplaya again.
