Although our room and bathroom looked clean and tidy, there were a couple of things that made our stay less than comfortable: there was insufficient tea and milk available on the tray. Minor complaint I know but after a long journey and first thing in the morning a cup of tea is very welcome and it there just wasn't enough available. On vacating the room we also found rubbish under the bed.

Room was a bit cold but it was July so they prob didn't think the heating needed to be on! Good value for money, basic but clean.

Although it was only a short stay they made me feel more than welcome. Good to know you can still find a genuine Cornish smile in Newquay.

We stayed in the family room at ground floor (G7). The room was big but it did not have a bath. Also, it was very near the main hotel toilet and there was a lot of noise in the night which made it difficult for our two year old daughter to sleep properly. The Kilbirnie Hotel website boasts of central heating but actually the central heating was not working on the first night of our stay (26th May). Unfortunately, our baby caught cold in the first night which was quite a disaster as it meant sleepness nights. To add to our problems, the hotel staff was not very helpful and they actually behaved very rudely to us on the last day and charged us 20 pounds extra for cleaning the room (apparently, we were guilty of making the room very dirty!).
Overall, the location of the hotel is good and the food is nice but I would think twice before going there again.
