Village Prem Ashton Moss

Booked for 1 night to visit daughter in Manchester. Have stayed at Village hotels before, but not this one. Hotel easy to find from M60. On arrival the receptionist was dealing with an enquiry, and speaking fluent Swedish/Hungarian/Dutch? which I was impressed with. At check in we were offfered 2 room keys - another plus point - why don't all hotels do this?
The room was very clean and high tech. Minor quibble - only 2 sachets of tea and coffee, but more were sent up straight away when we asked. No biscuits though, but that didn't really bother us. Appreciated the flat screen TV and the fact that we could control the room temp, but took a while to work out how to do this. There was a restuarant menu in the room, but no hotel pub menu (which might have persuaded us to eat in, rather than try the pub across the road).
The swimming pool was great and because it is large there was plenty of room for us, a few families and the Swedish youth football team (yes, really, they were staying at the hotel with the Hungarian and Dutch youth teams for a tournament). The pool staff were very relaxed and let the children (and the footballers) have floats and balls. Part of the pool is roped off for lane swimers. Didn't try the gym.
Breakfast was the usual buffet style, with impeccable service - the speediest I've ever experienced, but we were in at a quiet time. Food was excellent, with plenty of choice - cooked breakfast, cereal, juice, fruit, pastries, yoghurts etc.
Checkout was quick and painless, and all the staff we encountered were very pleasant and helpful.
To sum up, we had a great stay and will be visiting again.

Excellent hotel, very impressed with the rooms, bar area nice, staff very friendly and helpfull. Would stay again certainly. Only one complaint the room service took over an hour, apart from that superb.

Very nice place. nice people. just the cleanliness of the room and bathroom lets it down. seemed it had not been clean or dusted for a while. apart from that it was all good.
