We stayed in the Manor House, part of the Celtic Manor and it's a good option for those who want to use the facilities of the Celtic Manor at a cheaper rate. The room was large and spacious - quite old fashioned but in a nice way. The spa was lovely, as was the gym. Breakfast was a buffet and was plentiful. The Celtic Manor itself is rather large and cavernous - obviously set up for large conferences so it lacks ambiance. But for a weekend away it has good facilities, and staff are polite and efficient.

We decided to stay at The Manor House for our anniversary and had the best time! From the moment we checked into the hotel, to the moment we left, we were delighted with the high standard of customer service, the cleanliness of our room and the hotel and the absolutely delicious food!
We are already planning on going back there in a few months time...

When we arrived we upgraded and then told we had to pay for it, and was promised some extras that never arrived, then we had to put up with the noise from next door until 5.30am, then when we went to eat in the 5 restaurants we were told they were all fully booked, the room was equal to a travel lodge in my opinion, the bar staff wanted to shut the bar asap when asked what time it shuts the reply was when you lot go to bed, but closing the snooker table , covering the bar pumps, and staff chatting amongst themselves, looking tired did not enthuse us to stay an have another drink, so back to the noisy room room we went, hungry, tired, and fed up and weekend away which is rare for us, was a waste of time I did not even check out as at breakfast i was so tired with lack of sleep i couldnt eat. so just got in the car came home and slept for 5 hours.
The facilities like the steam room, pool was available and nice, but I tried to book my wife in for spa treatements but were all fully booked, that was disappointing. We will look for a different hotel next time. Not impressed.

The Hotel was fine little stuffy inside (air con took care of that) and some people may find the room dark (I prefer that easier to sleep). Staff were excellent friendly and efficient. You have access to whole of Celtic manor resort which is good as it is huge. and has good walks and facilities which are free to all guests. The dial up internet is free wireless broadband so late rooms info is wrong. Breakfast was very good and manor is a lot quieter than resort so great. Also Parking was close and lots of amenities including a tescos and boots close by at spytty retail park (cheap food).
