The attitude of all the staff was excellent. The room was very small, but I was led to expect that.. It was clean and pleasant and had all the facilities I wanted. Breakfast was served very pleasantly and attentively and was well cooked. |

The food and service was excellent, however, the main light switch didn't work in the room and the TV stopped working after a couple of hours arriving. |

Upon arrival i was told that i had been double booked & so was given a double for the price of a single which was obviously a pleasant surprise although i was made to feel a bit like they were doing me the biggest favour when repeatedly told how much the room would usually cost. Still the room was comfortable, clean, quiet & a good night's sleep was had. The food served was excellent although the service during dinner didn't match this quality unfortunately. My tap water was forgotten (as was the water ordered by the couple on the table next to me) which was only a small irritant but as a single diner being left for around 20 mins with an empty plate was pretty annoying. I am not sure if they were unattentive becasue i was on my own & they had more important customers in but it made me feel embarrassed to be alone. Had i had the pleasure of a dinner companion this would not have been such an issue as the food was very good & the atmosphere convivial so i would certainly recommend it to anyone wishing to savour the dining experience. |

The service was exceptional, but the size of the room was poor - I know it was a single but it was the smallest one i've ever stayed in. The Curtains were torn and there were cracks in the wall (it is a VERY old place, but the room has been plastered and that's what has cracked). Parking was a problem and thanks to the person that blocked me in, I nearly burnt my clutch out with the constant tooing and frowing. Luckily the receptionist saw my predicament and moved her car which gave me some much needed space - she was very good! Oh and the bear on the bed was a cute touch! |
