Had a great breakfast on Saturday morning (scrambled egg on smoked salmon - highly recommended) but when tried to order on the Sunday morning were told could only have breakfast from the buffet selection (bacon/sausages/fried eggs) which was not to our liking. Eventually were given scrambled eggs but had to ask twice.

The hotel was in a beautiful location set back off the road in its own grounds. Food and Service were very good, although we did have problems with the heating in our room - which we had to point out to the Reception staff twice before it was finally resolved. We arrived and stayed during a very cold spell and at first it was much warmer in the hotel corridors than in our room - which was freezing cold. Another couple we spoke to had the same experience.A minor gripe was the lack of a wardrobe. Clothing was hung on parallel unscreened rails on the wall just inside the bedroom door.

The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are exceptionally well presented - especially the superior rooms. This is the second time that we have stayed at the hotel and will stay again. The hotel is remote, with little going on in the area, but the bath makes the visit worthwhile! On both occasions that we have stayed (October and December 2008) the temperature was low - -4 on this occasion, and snow had fallen and frozen. The carpark was an ice rink - and my husband fell on the ice. The room's radiator was off (like last time!), and the room was freezing. The receptionist arranged for a heater whilst the room warmed up (which was the next day!). We would stay again on the condition that the hotel warmed the room BEFORE we arrived. Still great overall....would recommend.

Can't fault the hotel, everything went smoothly. Loved sitting by the fires in the evening, and walking round the grounds.
One small thing, felt they hadleft something out of the room, no information about breakfast times/room service or numbers to dial, sparse but functional.
