The Falcon

A comfortable 10-minute walk from Oxford city centre, opposite Queens college playing fields, with views to the college boathouses along the towpath. A late Victorian town house comprising 16 en-suite guest bedrooms accommodating up to 32 guests in comfortable, well furnished surroundings. Our warm and friendly guest house provides well-maintained facilities making it the perfect base from which to explore the history of Oxford and surrounding countryside. Within the establishment... All our guest bedrooms are non-smoking with en-suite facilities, shower, remote control colour televisions, radio alarm clocks, hospitality trays, direct dial telephones and hair dryers. Our dining room serves a full English or vegetarian breakfast which is included in the price. Comfortable guest lounge.
Free car parking, secured with an electronic gate (one car per booked room). South Oxford is the ideal location whether visiting for business or pleasure. The Falcon is an entirely non-smoking establishment.

Join the Oxford ring road and the junction with the A4144, take the Abingdon Road towards Oxford city centre. Follow this road for approximately 1 mile and you will see the Falcon on your left hand side. We are on the corner of Newton Road and our car park is located at the rear of the hotel. You will need to turn in to Newton Road to access the car park.

Hotel was lovely, clean, surprisingly spacious. Stayed in a twin en-suite room, bathroom was lovely, plenty of car parking and very close to Oxford centre, so I would recommend it for a short stay. Breakfast was impressive, though unfortunately a little cold but that's the only bad thing i can think of to say!

Very impersonal, but fine for what we wanted. This was a cheap basic clean place for all the family to sleep while spending a couple of days exploring Oxford.

There are only two minor negative points:
The non smoking room smelt strongly of tobacco which lasted until the second day.
The breakfast menu advertised a vegetarian option which turned out to be the usual option of croissant etc. I felt this could have been made clearer.
On the plus side the car parking was roomy and for no extra charge, also they allowed us to stay parked untilt the late afternoon on the day we left, which was extremely helpful.

The service was excellent because we had to arrive late and they waited for us after 10pm.
Value for money is a 4 only becuase we had a discounted price, if it had been full price I would not have felt it value for money and would have given a 2!
