THE OLD BLUE PIGEONS, THE STREET, DEAL

Situated in a quiet secluded location opposite the village church in the picturesque village of Worth, nestled in the countryside, yet close to the historic town of Sandwich, this traditional public house provides visitors with a warm, friendly and comfortable welcome. The Blue Pigeons Inn invites you to experience its traditional countryside atmosphere, panoramic views, sweeping landscapes, and six romantic rooms all en-suite. Dining either Al-a-Carte or traditional pub fayre daily. The Blue Pigeons Inn offers comfortable, cosy accommodation situated both on the 1st floor of the inn and also in modern log cabins at ground floor level. There are 2 double rooms offering disabled access, whilst the inn also has 2 family suites. Dogs are welcome, parking is off-road and full restaurant and public house facilities are available. There is also a substantial garden offering a large climbing frame, several bouncy castles and various other games and entertainment for children. The village of Worth developed in the 16th century, when the castles of Sandown, Deal and Walmer were built. The Downs became an anchorage comparatively safe from marauders, and more settled conditions came to this part of the coastline. Trade naturally followed and this period saw the beginning of the red brick style of building, of which there are still a few pleasing examples in the village today. The local church, however, shows traces of Norman (12th century) work.

Room was cold and the high level ceiling / roof was full of cobwebs. Hotel manager / chef was very pleasant, friendly and welcoming. Won't stay there again though.

Really helpful,friendly. Would have been lost without them, have and would highly reccomend to anyone, food great and lots of!!! Kids happy, Happy kids happy parents, will use from now on!!!

we had an excelent experience at this hotel and would whole heartedly recommend it to any one. a lovely old country pub,beautifully and tastefully decorated in a lovely area, the breakfast was more than excelent for the very low cost of our room with a large menu to suit anyone. the attention to detail was very impressive. lots of little sachets for the bath room more than enough for 2 people, and tea and coffee making supplies were varied and with lots of choise. the only small comment was that the heating didn't seem to be working so the room was quite cold. pity when the room was so nice and the bed so comfortable. we were too tired having traveled for hours to raise this with the propieters at the time, so we cannot complain as I am sure something would have been done about it as they were so obliging in everything else. the meals here were also of exceptional quality. compliments to the chef. a lovely place to stay we wil certainly return. thanks to all management and staff for a pleasant stay

Value for money the hotel was excellent, clean and comfortable not luxurious but very friendly. It was easy to find and we used it as an overnight stay for the Dover cruise terminal and would definitely do so again.
