At £49 for B/B this was excellent value. The hotel is not central but free parking is a bonus and it is easy to find. On a bus route so easy transport into the centre (15 minutes?)

Can't really fault anything except it was a very windy night in edinburgh when we stayed and being on the top floor meant we had to listen to the wind whistling at the window all night long which resulted in a very sleepless night. Better insulation around the windows might help this problem. Breakfast was excellent - very fresh food and plenty of choice to suit everyone.

Fabulous room, superb breakfast. Staff polite, friendly & helpful. Bar area seriously lacking in any atmosphere (several large screen TVs playing programmes I would never watch (late Friday evening so it was bad language comedy) Maybe there was a quieter/nicer area?

The only problem we had to face was that though we had paid for two rooms in advance, the hotel had information about one room only. The hotel staff was however very pleasant and corteous. Thery sorted this problem out for us and arranged another room in no time. This could have been a very unpleasant experience had they not had any spare rooms at that time!
