The hotel has recently been taken over by new owners, and it seems the reviews we read before booking were all relating to the previous owners. Our room was supposed to be 'Superior' but was a little cramped and on the ground floor with French windows opening onto a little seating area and the car-park. The owner told us we couldn't open this window because people could easily get into the room from the street. This doesn't strike us as a superior room. It was also cold and the heating was off so turning the radiators on made no difference. It wasn't a terrible place but it seemed poor value for money. |

Staff were very helpful with directions and information about where to go and what to see, couldn't be more helpful. The hotel is Central enought to get into the city and parking was a plus. The rooms were spacious, modern, clean and well equipted. |

The room was a ground floor room which ran off the main entrance door, this meant you heard everyone coming into and leaving the B & B. The room had no windows but did have a french door, unfortunately you couldn't leave it open at night as it was the ground floor room and we didn't want to take the risk! There was no air con so teh room felt quite foisty, despite the fan in the en-suite running constantly. The en-suite has a few loose fittings and the shower was powerful if you didn't want it hot. It had shower gel & shampoo holders/bottles which were empty, a small discrepency but at £80 per night wouldn't be the case at the Marriott (roughly the same price). Overall a decent bed for the night but compared to the Marriott didn't come close. |
