Well, where to begin? In addition to the rooms being above the bar area, there is also a nightclub in the basement level which sends vibrations and thumpa-thumpa music through the floorboards into the early hours - and this was on a Tuesday night! The rooms are in desperate need of redecoration. On my arrival, the waste bin was still full from the previous occupants. Add to this that the rooms were not made up after our first night (we stayed two nights). The only positive aspects were that they did at least accept pets, which as a dog owner was welcome, and the breakfast was good, and speedy. But for the £50-a-night that I paid to stay there, it was overpriced, and I shall not consider staying here again. |

The rooms were perhaps dated decor wise but very clean with a comfortable bed and a good breakfast. Be aware that as the Mariner is a pub, music from the jukebox can be heard in the room whilst the bar is open. Personaaly I did not find that a problem. |

The hotel needs a parking space (it is nice to know your car is safely parked during your stay in an hotel. Also being from Windermere, we know there are times where finding a parking space in the streets is a challenge, never mind near an hotel or B & B situated in the middle of the village. |
