The Glebe is a 3 star Country House Hotel ideally located in the charming village of Barford. Situated a short distance from Stratford-upon-Avon and only 1 mile from Junction 15 of the M40. The hotel is conveniently located at Barford near Warwick and consists of thirty-nine luxurious bedrooms, conference and wedding facilities for up to 110 people with ample parking for guests and the Glebe Leisure Club. The hotel is perfectly situated, being a short distance from Warwick town with its medieval castle, historic Kenilworth, the spa town of Leamington and the beautiful areas of the Cotswolds. It was built in the 1820’s as a rectory to the Church of St. Peter, which stands adjacent to the hotel’s grounds. The house remained private until 1948, when it was turned into a small country house hotel. All thirty-nine bedrooms are decorated with individual character, style and design. Featuring either, coronet style bed, a tented ceiling or a four-poster style. Facilities include LCD flat-screened televisions with satellite channels, high-speed internet access, direct dial telephones and tea and coffee making facilities. The en suite bathrooms all have bath and shower, hair dryers and warm towel rails. The hotel features a fabulous hotel restaurant serving a delicious blend of local, seasonal produce and international cuisine and a state-of-the-art spa/fitness facility (complete with luxurious swimming-pool) to work of those extra calories (or to simply relax)!

On arrival the hotel makes an impressive sight. However, the receptionist was not too welcoming, there was a function in the restaurant which meant that no evening meal was available and there was no change available in the bar. The bed was very low and dipped in the middle. Both my wife and I woke up after a poor night's sleep with sore backs. We have never experienced such an uncomfortable bed! Breakfast was of a good standard which meant that we left the hotel in better spirits than when we awoke.

We stayed for a weekend. We only had breakfast in the hotel. The cooked breakfast was OK but there wasn't really a continental style breakfast available, apart from cereals. What we required of the service was good. By standards the hotel was reasonable value at the price we paid.

What a great place to stay. Just outside of Warwick, but an easy drive to Warwick and Strathford Upon Avon, The staff were friendly especially the Restaurant Staff. The meals were very good.
