The Karos hotel compromises of an idyllic 4-storey, classic Belgium residence, located nearby the “Zand Square”, an area notorious for its first-class pubs and restaurants. A charming slanted roof, wood-panelled windows and hanging flower-basket conspire to create a building which is a kitsch and whimsical as it is charming, homely and inviting.     Excellent, friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were basic but clean and a decent size with unoffensive decor. The breakfast choice was poor and simple things like glasses for the juice had to be requested. overall reasonable value for money.

    got parking space which was bonus. hotel very near to main square and central. 10 mins walk. hotel clean. staff ok, friendly enough. breakfast was surprise , quite a lot on offer and certainly enough to get the day off to a good start. rooms basic but clean with tv. overall couldnt fault for price and would reccommend.     Hotel bedroom was cold. No hot water in the evening.
    Hotel Reception advised that several other rooms had also complained. Heating not repaired although an electric heater was provided.
    Cleaners tried to turn us out of the room at 09.30 on the final day of our stay before we had had breakfast. When I complained to the Receptionist I was told they were not hotel employees!
