Stayed here many times before every time when you go to check in they always ask when I booked the room?. The room was ok but no plug for the sink and no bath towel. Breakfast was spot on as normal. And yet again bar not fully open. Cheap night stay with good breakfast |

A group of us have stayed in this hotel for the last 4 years as we have been to Birmingham for the cricket at Edgbaston . I think that the hotel must have changed hands since we stayed in 2007 as the "quality" and customer service has deteriorated significantly. This year it got to the stage that thay had no late bar - they served a limited selection of drinks reception and if they did not have your drink it was tough luck. (We actually went to another Hotel across the road who were willing to serve us.) The only food we had was breakfast , which is was quite acceptable. There were a number of areas in the hotel that needed repair, it seemed that these were being overlooked and it will soon be more run down than it is presently. There was a lack of cleanliness - I ended up with 3 large "insect" bites on my back which I can only suppose came from the bed. One of our party also queried the cleanliness of his bed covers. The cost of the room is not high at £30 per person per night - but other hotels are as competitive as this and our party will be looking elsewhere next year. It is definitely on the way down if they don't get their act together and buck up their ideas. |
