nice clean and tidy b&b. Owner was very friendly and made us welcome and very knowledgeable about the area. Rooms and bathroom although small were very comfortable with everything you need for a short break. Only downside is that if your going to the lakes for walking or to get away from the hustle and bustle i wouldn't stay here as the surrounding area is very touristy and unless you have a car you won't get to see all the hills and lakes the lake district is famous for. If your happy to drive around to see things then this place is great as its only a couple of minutes from the a591 which will take you through some amazing scenery. Would stay somewhere more rural next time i go to the lakes but if you want somewhere a little more tourist friendly this place would be a good bet. |

Superb B&B, very friendly service and immaculately cleaned. The breakfast was wonderful, especially as there was a vegetarian option (which is quite uncommon). Would definitely recommend. |

Leigh is a lovely hostess - very friendly and welcoming and made us feel very comfortable during our stay. Our bedroom had everything we needed and more, including wireless internet access for our laptop. The decor was nice and fairly modern and our bed was also extremly comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and there was so much to chose from! a great B&B in a great location - situated pretty much in between Windermere and Bowness and easy walking distance into both villages and the lake (a relaxed 20 mins to the lake shore). Parking is also not a problem, as you can park right outside, which is a benefit as many of the B&B's in this area are on main roads with limited or no parking available. We would definately stay here again, we had a wonderful time and everything from the bed, the food, the hospitality, the location and the value for money were all spot on! |

Everything about our stay was really good. Even when we turned up much later than I had said, we were met with a friendly smile. Montfort Cottage was really clean and tidy throughout and the owner Leigh really makes the effort to go the extra mile. Would definitely go back. |
