Roade House Restaurant and Hotel

16 High Street, Roade

The oldest part of the building was originally the local stone built village pub dating from the end of the 18th century. The premises have been extensively developed by owners, Chris and Sue Kewley using traditional materials to create a harmonious synthesis of old and new.
The menu revolves around the seasons. Ingredients are sourced from all over the country. Scotch beef, Cornish lamb and local game among other things are all used extensively.
The ambience at Roade House is comfortable and relaxed, with friendly and efficient service. All our staff are committed to making your time with us as enjoyable as possible whether you are looking for a romantic meal to remember, an important business dinner or just a fun night out.
The bedrooms have been tastefully furnished to create the atmosphere of a private country house – but with all the convenience and amenities of a modern hotel.
All our bedrooms have full en-suite facilities, power showers, queen size beds with duvets, colour televisions with video recorders, hair dryers, direct dial telephones and trouser presses. Guests are requested not to smoke in the bedrooms.

This hotel was in a perfect place for us to go out visiting country shops. We were impressed with the size and the cleanliness of the room and there are some fantastic places to eat within a short travelling distance.

Very enjoyable stay although brief. Late arrival very well and efficiently received. Bar not up to much (no draught beer) but a very pleasant looking pub accross the road (we were too late to check it out). Hotel is clean with pleasant decor and staff are friendly and helpful. Room very spacious and clean. Breakfast very nice and the evening menu looks great.

What a refreshing change to find quality accommodation and good customer service at a reasonable price. If you are thinking about staying here, then do so - you won't be disappointed. Top quality room and amenities. Bear in mind it is a restaurant as well so during the evening there may be more people about than you'd normally expect of such a small hotel, but there's no reason for this to be a problem, other than for parking.
Overall, we have to say 'well done' to the owners.

Easy to find less than 10 mins from J15 of M1, quality food served at the hotel, or pub grub across the street at friendly local. Was there for short stay with girlfriend, room was comfortable and quiet with generous refreshments.
