Lantern Guest House

At the Lantern Guest House we aim to provide clean, comfortable and above all, affordable rooms, in a central location. Situated in the City Centre we compromise of two double rooms, a twin room and triple room situated in the Lantern House, itself. In Windsor House, our sister guest house, located at 23 Windsor Street, we offer an additional double Room, twin room and triple room. Depending on availability a booking can either be placed in the Lantern House or at Windsor House. Our rooms are simplistically yet tastefully furnished offering the optimum in comfort and relaxation.

A pin code was sent via email to enter through front door, very odd. What if we hadn't checked our email?
The room was very cold, we were asked our arrival time so they could have pre-heated the room.
Advertised the internet but definately did not have it, was given a broken USB stick which also did not work.
Was in a good location.

We found the Lantern easily thanks to the directions we had been emailed. The guesthouse is in an excellent location just off Leith Walk, close to lots of restaurants and cafes and only a short walk from Harvey Nicks, Princes St etc.
Our room was warm and clean and the decor was very tasteful, nice polished floorboards!
As promised there were tea- and coffee-making facilities and it was nice to see Fairtrade products.
I would recommend the Lantern to anyone looking for a quiet, central base for their stay in Edinburgh.
