With its beautiful indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools, jacuzzi, sauna and pool table; and close proximity to excellent local golf courses and the Torquay bowls green, the Crofton House Hotel provides the perfect place for a relaxing English break. Stuated in an elevated position on one of Torquay's seven hills this magnificent Georgian Hotel overlloks Torquay tennis courts (available to hire) and affords wonderful views of the sea and beyond. Off road parking is available in the hotel car park and Torquay train station is a 0.5mile walk away.
Come and enjoy yourself at one of our Murder Mystery Weekend hosted by Big Monty Productions on March 15th, July 19th or Aug 9th. The tariff advertised includes a 4 course Dinner and there is live entertainment the night before. Alternatively we have a special deal on Sunday 13th Jan of £20.00 PPPN Bed & Breakfast when we host the South West's charity party in aid of Poland's Children in Need.
Enjoy drinks and cocktails or tea and coffee at the bar or on our tranquil terrace with its excellent views before sitting down to a freshly prepared four course dinner. We use local produce where possible and we have an extensive wine list includng local Devon vintages. We are happy to cater for vegetarian or other dietary needs if advised beforehand.
Don't forget to take a stroll via our private pathway to nearby Tor Abbey Sands beach or visit one of the other seven beaches in Torquay. For the more adventurous excellent night life can be found in the evenings with a variety of restaurants and nightclub to suit all budgets and tastes (we can arrange baby sitting for the evening if required).
Within the local area are notable attractions such as quaint Cockington Village (free entry), Kent Caverns, Babbacombe Model Village, the excellent Paignton Zoo, Babbacombe and Princess Theatres, Crealy Adventure Park, Quaywest Water Park, 10 Pin Bowling and much more. The staff are very helpful and even put an extra bed in our room. This will be a fantastic hotel when it has had a lot of money spent on it. The location is good for shopping and the beach. There is a lot of work need doing and in a couple of years we may stay there again.

Apparently this was once one of the best hotels in Torquay. Previous owners let the place get really run down and now the new owners are trying very hard to rectify the situation. Very cheap and OK for a short stay. Our room was very poor - mould all around the windows, paper peeling off the walls, the owners are aware of the situation, but we did feel that there was no excuse for a mould filled soap tray. The swimming pool was nice but the shower wasn't working which meant we couldn't shower off either before or after a swim. Breakfast was OK but on the second day we had to send the sausages back because they weren't properly cooked. We probably wouldn't stay there again - at least not for a year or so. Shame because the hotel has great potential to be really lovely. The main redeeming factor was the staff, who were really nice.

Stay was cheap which suited me fine as working in area, but wouldn't recommend for a holiday. Staff were friendly.
