Located in the heart of the National Park, Lindeth Howe is set in 6 acres of beautiful grounds, with stunning views over Lake Windermere to the fells beyond. A perfect base for exploring the numerous attractions the Lake District has to offer.
Lindeth Howe, awarded an AA rosette for food accompanied by an extensive wine list, beckons all lovers of fine cuisine. Throughout the day enjoy morning coffee, tasty light lunches or afternoon tea with homemade cakes and scones. In the evening look forward to a scrumptious dinner served in our candlelit dining room - everything is freshly prepared using locally sourced ingredients where possible. Children are not forgotten and have their own menu of personal favourites.
With comfortable lounges and library to relax in, you can enjoy your favourite tipple from the well stocked bar whilst appreciating what inspired Beatrix Potter to continually return to Lindeth Howe. All our bedrooms are comfortable and well furnished, and have everything to make your stay complete; including two specially designed easy access rooms on the ground floor.

Lindeth Howe is approximately 20 minutes drive from the M6 motorway and one mile south of the village of Bowness on Windermere. Leave the motorway at junction 36 and proceed along the A591 dual carriageway for 8 miles, turning left at the roundabout onto the B5284 signed to Hawkshead/Ferry and Crook. After 7 miles, the road crosses the Lyth Valley road (A5074) onto Longtail Hill. Lindeth Howe is clearly signposted on the left just 150 metres down Longtail Hill. The nearest local train station and National Express Coach stop is Windermere and main West Coast Line station is Oxenholme, the Lake District. The nearest airport is Manchester.

I have stayed here many times before, however on this occasion felt that the evening meal was rushed and it appeared that the staff were more concerned with finishing the evening and getting home, this spoilt the stay for me and hope this will not be the case in the future. Last time to reserve table for dinner was stated as 9pm, I reserved for this time and therefore would suggest that the timings are changed to say half hour earlier (8.30pm) so as to not rush the customers as the evening meal is an important part of the visit when you are away from home on business.

Very pleasant hotel. Quiet. Good facilities. Nice grounds. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Glad we booked on the internet as the hotel direct was £520 and we paid £350.
