New Phildene Hotel

As we only had breakfast because they were not doing evening meals, the breaskfast was freshly cooked and filling well worth it. The hotel was clean and friendly and not noisey I would certainly stay there again, the owners couldnt do enough and were very friendly didnt matter what they were doing they always found time for a chat whcih is nice.

We only stayed for 2 nights, but wished we had booked for longer, a very nice hotel, good position for the prom, staff made us feel very welcome,. When we are in Blackpool again this will be the first hotel to try.

Was made to pay in full before parking in the car park. Car keys were taken and car moved and scratched. Was spoken to very rudely by hotel owner as if it was our fault and told that my husband was obstropulous! Would have gone elsewhere only full payment had been taken for the stay. Lady and food was very nice though but the car situation marred our stay.

The hotel was in a good location, nice and quiet, room was clean,bed comfortable and the breakfast was very good enjoyed our stay.

The Hotel was of a good quality and of a high standard of cleanliness. The main let down is the owners or more precisely the male owner. He gave the impression of the whole running of the hotel was an annoyance to himself. At one point myself and wife thought about having a sweep stake to see how many times he would "tut" at things that didnt seemingly go his way! The notices around the hotel give the impression of oppressiveness and along with his general demeanor gave out the feeling of the "old Landlady" syndrome where they ruled and you did as you was told or else you would be out on your ear!
A hotel is made or broken on its owners and unfortuneatly in this case despite the high quality of the hotel building itself it just couldnt make up for the shortcomings of the owner. (I havnt mentioned his name as he didnt even introduce himself to us!)
