We had a beautiful room overlooking the harbour. The staff were the friendliest we encountered on our holiday in Scotland. I would have no hesitation staying there again ....The Location is probably the best in Oban..for views and closeness to shops/eating venues |

Location is fantastic, over looking the harbour and in the centre of town, just a few moments walk from shops, pubs and restaurants. All the staff were very friendly, but not over-bearing. Breakfast was lovely, but just a little too early for a holiday as it was available 8am - 9am (or earlier by request!) |

The hotel smells of dog really badly. The staff are fairly friendly and polite. The room I was given was supposed to be recently renivated and updated? I remember the olive green bathroom suite as very out dated and the room, although clean, was nothing special. I booked the room through late rooms at £70. This price was supposed to be a late special. |

Really enjoyed Oban and loved the Cuan Mor restuarant on the main street.Having read earlier reviews of the Palace Hotel we were prepared for the parking and lift problems as I used the train instead of driving, Fri and Sat after closing times were a wee bit rowdy but I expected that due to the central location of the hotel. The proprietor and staff were excellent and could not help you enough. The main plus for me was the nearness of the hotel to the ferry and train points which meant we could travel the western isles with ease from here and this I would recommend as a brilliant way to spend a weekend break. |

It took around 80 steps up to the bedroom. The bedroom was clean, but very old fashioned. You can smell their dogs on the 1st and 2nd floor whenever you're passing. The views from the hotel are fantastic. The staff pleasant. Breakfast was nice. |
