The hotel was in a small village with only 1 other public house. The manager has recently taken over and the restaurant was being refurbished but the evening meal in the pub and the breakfast was excellent. I am sure when all the work has been completed it will be an even lovier place to stay |

We arrived at the hotel about 4.45 to find it was closed. There was no reply from the phone when both we and Laterooms tried to contact them. The manager denied knowledge of a message left on the answer phone and Laterooms suggested we went away and came back later. Laterooms phoned to say we could get in - this was 6pm. We arrived, dropped our bags in our room and went immediately to the bar for a meal. We ordered drinks and were given a menu and shortly after that told that they were expecting groups for food and couldn't feed us until at least 8.30pm - 8.45pm. Our 2 small children couldn't possibly wait that long and they kindly prepared them a plate of chips each. We infact waited until just after 8pm for our food, which was lovely when it arrived. At breakfast the next morning we were told we had to pay £5 each for the children's breakfast and as they wouldn't have eaten much, we said it was OK, but this was infact to cover laundry changing, etc and had to pay this. |
