The Pier House Hotel and Restaurant was built in 1794 and is situated on the picturesque harbour port of Charlestown. The harbour retains its unspoilt charm and beauty being home to three tall ships which are frequently used for film making, training and sailing.Charlestown has been the setting for many television and film productions including 'The Three Musketeers, The Eagle Has Landed, Treasure Island ' and latterly Apocolypto directed by Mel Gibson.
The hotel is ideally positioned in the centre of Cornwall enabling guests to visit the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan and also the numerous other delights and attractions our county has to offer. There are two golf courses nearby, cliff top walking to enjoy and the beach with rock pools to explore.
The hotel is family owned and run with great emphazise placed on creating a friendly, relaxing and welcoming atmosphere combined with excellent quality and service. The A La Carte Restaurant, the Bistro and the Harbourside Inn are reknown in the area for their cuisine with a great variety of sea food available.

Currently undergoing refurbishment, but the rooms, although small, are good. Varied food at varied prices, all value for money. I shall certainly stay there again

Very good hotel, brilliant location, helpful reception staff. When we arrived we were upgraded to a suite with a spa bath, overlooking the harbour. Excellent room. Cleanliness of the bathroom could have been a bit better, but nothing too terrible. Breakfasts - fine but nothing special (cooked breakfast v good). Bisto food (x2meals) - very good, A la carte food (x2meals) - excellent. The only issue was that on the saturday night there was live music playing in the bar downstairs until 2am - not ideal. Overall we had a very good time and we'd have no hesitation in staying there again.
