Food was satisfactory & adequate, (breakfast).
We had requested a larger/quieter room away from Reception & main road, (when my wife & I booked on the www) - we got what we asked for!...Thanks!
Staff at Reception couldn't have been more-polite or helpful...the lady on Reception wouldn't even accept a 'communal' tip from us when we left on the Sun!
The hotel allowed us to store our bags in a secure room, (after the 11am check-out time)...thanks/very-helpful, as we were attending a Wedding at the local Sikh Temple!
We collected our bags 2 hours later/(the secure room was still locked & with alot more luggage in it, as well as ours)...no extra charge for this really-useful service!
Easy access (by taxi) from Central Railway Station, (£4-£5 fare)...you could walk from the station; but, it would probably take about 30mins approx + it's quite hilly/steep in parts from the centre of Glasgow to the hotel.
Inside the hotel...quite a 'quirky' set-up...walk from Reception down narrowish-stairs...along a long-corridor (with rooms off)...through the dining/breakfast room...along a short-corridor (with rooms off)...climb up narrowish-stairs to the (next-door?) property/(part of the hotel.
Therefore, not recommended for those with difficulty in walking up/down stairs.
Perfectly placed...(2 mins walk away from west-end of Sauchihall Street!)...some might say, too-near?!...loadza Xcellent places to eat & drink!...very-lively indeed on the Sat-nite we were there!
Overall, would certainly go back & stay & would recommend as a good-value-for-money...(£59/room/nite/inc bfast for the 2 of us)...place to stay for 1 or 2 or 3 nites etc.
*FAO: Short-message for the owners of the Newton Hotel...hang-onto your Staff!...they're a great asset to your business!!!
Thank you, (once again), for a very-pleasant stay at your hotel in your fab-City!
Regards

Great location, just round the corner to Sauchiehall Street, only a 15 minute walk to Train station. The staff are all friendly and helpful, and the manager was very friendly and cheery. Very modern decor throughout hotel, room spacious with top notch shower and freeview t.v. Breakfast good. Overall excellent value for money.
