Nether Abbey

20 Dirleton Avenue, North Berwick

The Nether Abbey Hotel has been owned by successive generations of the same family for fifty years. In 2004 the Hotel shut for extensive renovations and refurbishment with simply stunning results. Although priding ourselves on old fashioned personal service there is nothing staid or old fashioned about the Hotel. The public areas are open plan, cool, contemporary and with all the sophistication you would expect from a city centre bar and restaurant.
We take great pride in the food and drink we offer with the emphasis on quality and fresh local ingredients – there’s a good chance that the guy sitting next to you at the Bar will have caught the Sea Bass you had for dinner!

The room was spacious with a comfortable bed but unfortunately it was far too hot even with the window wide open, there was know air con nor a fan available when we asked. We were above the kitchen so that did not help matters.
The restraunt was comfortable & service was good, food was well presented though i found my starter too salty .
The hotel let itself down at reception as there was no-one there to greet guests & when checking out

Food was of poor quality, 50% of the mussels served were still closed; the mashed potato was runny, the cheescake just wasnt one and the breakfast was overcooked and had clearly been left under heat lamps for some time. Worst hotel breakfast ever!
