The Stoneythorpe Hotel is a Grade II listed hotel the building was the first eye and eyre hospital in the country with a couple of ghosts the hotel which has recently been awarded 2 stars by Quality in Tourism reflecting the recent refurbishments.
This independently run hotel offers all the character and charm you could wish for. It is set in the historic market town of Southam, in the Heart of Warwickshire.
The hotel has a fully licensed bar and restaurant which is open to residents and non residents, the hotel has a full a la carte menu which offers a large variety of home cooked dishes, the hotel also offers bar snacks, a specials board and Sunday carvery 5pm 8pm breakfast is included cold buffet style
All bedrooms have been refurbished to a high standard and are complete with new bathrooms, hospitality trays, televisions, trouser presses and hair dryers.
The hotel is home to Henrys Music Club, a music venue offering a wide variety of music for all tastes, monthly gigs are proving to be very popular. a all inclucive rate dinner bed and breakfast 2 tickets to henrys on seleted dates we are in the good beer guide for the third year 07/08 08/09/09/10
the name henry was taken from Dr henry lilly smith the founder of the hospital in 1818

The nearest train station is 7 miles away in Royal Leamington Spa. From the M40 North Bound: Leave the M40 at junction 12, signposted for Gaydon and the Heritage Motor Museum. At the end of the slip road, turn right onto the B4451, continue through Bishops Itchington until you reach a ‘T’ junction. Turn right, heading towards Deppers Bridge (1 mile), continue through towards Southam (2 miles). On entering Southam, turn left at the roundabout, then immediately right at ‘T’ junction on Warwick Road. The Stoneythorpe Hotel is on the left hand side. From the M42 & M40 South Bound: Leave the M42 at junction 3a signposted London, Warwick and Stratford. Leave the M40 at junction 12, signposted for Gaydon and the Heritage Motor Museum. Follow on from above From the M1: Leave the M1 at junction 21, signposted for Leicester A5460, Coventry, Birmingham (M6), M69 and join the M69 towards Coventry. Remain on the M69 to its conclusion, continuing onto the A46 dual carriageway. Left at first roundabout, second turn at next (straight over) and first turn at next should see you on the A45 heading to London, M45, M1. Past the petrol station on left then turn left onto the the slip road to join the A423. Follow the A423 to Southam, take the third turn at roundabout into Southam, in town center turn right towards Leamington Spa ( A425) down Warwick Street. The Stoneythorpe Hotel is on the right hand.

Hotel was ok - welcome was friendly enough, but it looks a bit tired and shabby. The room was basic to say the least and although the bed was comfortable I couldnt say it was a great nights sleep. Breakfast was basic, and tables rather tightly packed so it was difficult to have a non overheard conversation.
