On one of the nights we stayed, there was a large party downstairs. We would have appreciated being told about this in advance as we had small children travelling with us and this could have been a problem. The hosts did apologise, and it wasn't a big problem. The noise went on until about 11 o'clock which is not late, but could easily have disturbed the toddler. |

This was a real gem of a find. Everyone made me to feel very welcome, they carried my bags, they made sure I was satisfied with everything and safe. On the morning of my departure John even went to start the engine of my car to defrost the windscreen and rear window and even parked his own car behind mine so that no-one could steal it. If I am on business again in the area or if I holiday in the Lake District I will surely be back. Top marks 10/10. |

Service on all levels from the owners to the bar staff was great, really friendly and genuine on a down to earth level which was refreshing after a whole week of 5 star hotel service! (not that there was anything wrong with that) Felt lucky to find somewhere with such a lovely room (we had the four poster bed), great service and great British food at the price we got it at, loved the real fire as well...fantastic value, would stay again. |
