Re-decoration of rooms has vastly improved this hotel. I have stayed in the past, mainly because of convenience and location, but the rooms had been only just acceptable. Now I would recommend. |

On arrival the room had no heating on. Luckily we turned on the radiators and went for a meal. Much warmer when we returned ! |

The room we were allocated had not been cleaned, nor had the second. However, a room WAS found which we found excellent and the Receptionist was most apologetic. There were cobwebs but the cleanliness overall was excellent. Newly decorated, plenty of hot water, good shower and bath (no shower cap provided though), comfortable bed and lighting in bathroom good. The steps and car park were icy in the morning and should have been gritted (we saw one guest fall). Breakfast was excellent, everything you could want. The setting for the hotel is stunning, overlooking a fast moving river. We would love to stay there again. |
