The rooms are separate from the pub which made it a pleasure to be in and seem to be very good conversions from a barn or similar by the side of the car park. Nice and quiet. They were well done and comfortable. Why the low rating for the room? Simple - the shower did not work - despite being virtually brand new. We were told this was because we couldn't work the thermostat properly. Not sure what we did wrong because we had water coming out OK, and we could turn it succesfully to hot but we could not get hot water despite leaving it to run on. There was no-one in the pub when we wanted to tell them about this and we needed to get going to our destination. We were staying at a festival for the weekend so a shower was particularly important to us. |

the staff of the hotel were very friendly and helpful the food was very good as was the beer. because there were dogs in the hotel it did not have that clean fresh cleanliness and smell -don't get me wrong i like dogs but in an hotel ? when we booked Diana phoned and gave us her mobile no so that if we had any questions to just phone. the day after we left the hotel we realized we had left my wife's coat there we telephoned Diana said she would check. we phoned again the next day she had found it and posted it to our home address. so when we had finished our holiday it was there waiting for us . fantastic service |

Even though we arrived the day after what had evidently been a very busy bank holiday period, my wife and I were made very welcome. The restaurant food was basic but well cooked and presented. £15 each for main course and dessert plus drinks isn't too bad these days. the rooms have evidently been recently rennovated and are spotlessly presented. |
