Whether you're visiting on business or pleasure, our attentive staff and superb surroundings will welcome you in style from the moment you walk in the door. The Durrant House Hotel is situated near the little white town of Bideford North Devon.
Discover the comfortable surroundings of our spacious, tastefully decorated guest rooms, all with en-suite facilities with some offering estuary views.
For our guests we offer two eating venues to choose from serving two completely different menus from our award winning chefs, with an aim on catering to all tastes.
We also provide a small fitness room, sauna, sun shower and an outdoor heated swimming pool for guest leisure facilities. There is also nightly entertainment provided on most nights for group tours, all hotel guests are welcome. Due to the hotel having the largest ballroom in area, the hotel is a very popular conference & wedding venue North Devon, we also provide free guest parking on site for over 100 vehicles.
Don't leave without trying a "Devon cream tea" its a way of life down in Devon. served with fresh scones, strawberry jam, clotted cream and a freshly brewed pot of English Devon tea.

Directions to Durrant House Hotel

From leaving the M5 motorway at junction 27 new Tiverton. Take the exit A361 to Barnstaple. On the approach to the town take the A39 to Bideford. On the outskirts of Bideford you cross the new Torridge Bridge and at the first roundabout take the 3rd exit to Westward Ho! Which is Heywood Road. We are situated at the crest of the hill on the right hand side, our entrance is in Durrant Lane. The nearest train station is at Barnstable which is about 15 miles there is a busstop right out side the hotel.

The hotel is great - really friendly staff and a lovely room. Perfect really. The hotel was very easy to find. We didn't eat there so can't comment about food - we had take away fish and chips sitting on the harbour wall!! Next time we go to Bideford, this is certainly where we will stay again and we will recommend the hotel very highly to friends.
May I also compliment laterooms.com for the ease with which the booking was made.

Error by hotel over booking - seemed quite rude until pointed out that we had booked for two and they then confirmed this was so! Unfriendly reception. Refused to allow access to room until precisely 2 p.m. despite long drive and no one else waiting. Restaurant staff very good. A plastic bag covered the smoke alarm in the bedroom - is this a fire risk restricting the alarm sensors? Forgot to mention this on leaving.
