The Elizabeth Orwell, a Victorian Hotel dating back to 1898. An old fashioned hotel, which had a major refurbishment during the autumn of 2003. Close to the Port of Felixstowe for business guests, also lots of local attractions for people visiting the area. The hotel is entirely non-smoking.

Stansted International Airport 1 hour and 20 min away. Felixstowe train station 2 minutes walk away. To find the hotel by road, take the a12 to Ipswich and join the a14 to Felixstowe. Joining the a154 on the Felixstowe and Walton-by-pass (Candlet Road) from the first roundabout. At the second roundabout, take the a1021 into Grove Road and at the third roundabout take the 3rd exit, Beatrice Avenue. At the fourth roundabout, take the second exit (straight over) into Hamilton Road and the hotel is immediately to your left.

My room was very dated and tired. The wall paper in the bedroom was peeling away from the walls. The painted ceilings in the bedroom and bathroom was flaking off. The bathroom was in need of modernisation. It was a very unpleasant stay.

The room was small, the twin beds tiny the wi fi only available downstairs in the bar area.
Maybe this was a laterooms "just shove them out of the way" booking but I certainly felt like a second class citizen.
