Well, I suppose the hotel was OK and certainly the receptionist that welcomed me was very friendly. The room left a bit to be desired - virtually all of the curtain hooks had perished so you coudn't draw the curtains, I have never known such creaking floorboards and the shower had virtually no flow. The thing that really annoyed me was when I came to pay. I had secured the room on my company AMEX card yet, when I came to settle, I was asked to use another card because AMEX charge too much commission. Frankly this is not my problem but claiming my expenses back now is going to be. If you don't want to accept AMEX then take it off the list of cards you are prepared to accept. I will be taking this up with AMEX and I won't be staying with you again which is a shame because your building has such a lovely character. |

Very pleasant change from the chain hotels and at considerable saving in comparison. Host friendly and the hotel has a certain charm. I have not eaten dinner but the menu looked attractive and I wil;l try it on my next visit. Dining area and lounge are well set out with a small bar integrated. Breakfast was very well presented and the food quality was fine. The conservatory overlooks the garden which is pleasant and relaxing in the morning. Car parking is adeqaute and in a good enclosed area. |
